It was raining heavily and Alan was trying to get some sleep but being themself they couldn’t fall asleep, they never can quite fall asleep it’s not them it’s just the fact they don’t need sleep. They sit up, their nightgown flowing with their nightcap, they get out of bed, sneaking around the circus making sure everyone else is asleep and that everything is in order. That's when they bump into Ego who should’ve been asleep “why are you awake ego? you know the rules” Alan said in a hushed voice, Ego's face was covered by it’s mask and said in a hushed yell “then why the hell are you up al?!” alan blinked their eye and spoke “i was making sure everything was in order for our show tomorrow” Ego changes back to it’s comedy mask and sighs “alright i’ll go back to bed” it said as it stumbles back to it’s room alan sighs a breath of relief and they go to the main floor where the shows always happen alan looks around feeling happiness and they say to themselves “i’d hate to disappoint you all” and they turn their head and they blink and they stretch all four arms yawning softly “well time to go back to my room” they said to themself and they walk back into their room with their silence they close their eye and tried to sleep but being themself they can’t sleep…even if they wanted..
